A classy design

The Jura E6 is one of those coffee machines that you will like for the way they look as much as you’ll like them for the way they perform. The E6 was made to look sophisticated and will definitely bring some charm to your kitchen.

The coffee maker is predominantly black, but it also has some silver surfaces to accent the sophistication of the E6. The casing of the machine is made of plastic. However, the coffee spouts and the hot water spout are made of metal. All of the spouts are adjustable, and let you make your coffee in cups as tall as 4.4’’ for the coffee spouts and 4.5’’ for the hot water spout.

This machine has a color TFT display with slim control buttons next to it and a steam dial for when you want to froth milk. Furthermore, the machine has a 63.6-ounce water tank and a 9.9-ounce bean hopper. As you can see, this is a machine designed for people who like drinking coffee a lot.

In terms of how compact the E6 is, we could say that it’s a coffee maker that’s not too big nor too small. The machine measures 11 x 13.8 x 17.3 inches and weighs 21.6 pounds.

Jura 15070 E6 Automatic Coffee Center, Platinum ‘Tell’ the coffee maker what you want it to do for you in an easy way

To have the drink that you want, you can just use the control buttons next to the TFT screen on the Jura E6. The TFT display shows you the drinks you’ve been making the most on the start menu.

This espresso machine lets you brew your coffee and steam your milk in a very easy way. To brew your coffee, you need to pick the drink you prefer from the drinks menu. Once you’ve done this, the machine will start brewing your coffee and you’ll be able to start drinking it in no time. Of course, don’t forget to fill the bean hopper and check whether you have enough water in the reservoir before your coffee starts to brew.

As we already mentioned, steaming milk is also pretty easy to do on the Jura E6. Simply connect the steaming hose to the hot water spout on the coffee machine and put the hose in a milk container. Then, switch on the steam dial, and let the E6 suck in the milk and extract it through the hot water spout.

Since the coffee spouts and the hot water spout are right next to each other, you don’t have to move your cup when making a milk-based coffee drink. Furthermore, the machine lets you make two drinks at a time, so you and your partner can start your day by having some nice coffee.

Why does the coffee that the Jura E6 makes taste so good?

How good a coffee an espresso machine makes depends on how well the coffee maker performs. In the case of the Jura E6, the technologies that this coffee maker relies on make a lot of difference to the coffee quality. This is why the resulting coffee drinks have great crema and a nice consistency, and this is also why the foam that the E6 makes tastes very good.

One of the technologies that the E6 uses is the Pulse Extraction Process. This process forces hot water through the coffee in short intervals and under high pressure, making sure that you can get the best flavor out of the coffee. Furthermore, the E6 also uses the Aroma G3 grinder which takes care of grinding your coffee in such a way to preserve its natural aroma.

Jura 15070 E6 Automatic Coffee Center, Platinum On the other hand, the E6 lets you program your drinks to make them ideal for you. You can choose the amount of water in your coffee, the brewing temperature and the temperature of the hot water, and make your coffee with 8 different coffee strengths. Therefore, you can really ‘mold’ your coffee and get the flavor you enjoy the most.

One thing that some people might consider to be a downside to the Jura E6 is its single thermoblock heating system. This means that, unlike the Jura Giga 5, the E6 cannot froth the milk and brew the coffee at the same time. However, the machine does both of the things very fast, and your coffee will still taste great.

Jura E6’s Intelligent Water System

This coffee maker has its CLEARYL Smart filter be wirelessly connected one to another. The machine, therefore, knows when the filter is inside the tank. This means that the machine will prompt you to descale it once it really needs to be descaled.

Furthermore, the E6 lets you adjust the water hardness. You’ll first need to test how hard your water is and give the machine this information. This way your coffee maker will tell you when it’s time to change the filter.

An easy-breezy cleaning

If you want to rinse, clean, or descale your E6, you can do so by choosing one of the programs that are available in the menu. Furthermore, Jura sells cleaning and descaling tablets for the brewing system. As for the milk system, they also have a nice milk system cleaner for sale. Also, the milk hose is dishwasher-safe and it’s also very easy to rinse.

FQA about the Jura E6

Can I use oily beans on the Jura E6?

We recommend you not use oily beans on this machine. They can clog the grinder.

Does the machine come with a warranty?

Yes, you’ll get a two-year warranty with the Jura E6.

Will I get a water filter with the Jura E6?

Yes, you’ll get one CLEARYL Smart water filter with the machine and it will last you up to two months.

Conclusion

We understand that, even though Jura coffee machines oftentimes finish on our best espresso machine lists, not every coffee machine is for everyone. However, if you’re looking for a coffee maker that makes nice coffee, is easy to use, and has many programmable options, the Jura E6 might be the machine you’ve been looking for. We hope that our review helped you decide on whether or not you will introduce the Jura E6 to your kitchen counter.

  2. What does open switch mean? I’ve been getting this message for three days now? Is there something wrong with my Jura?

    • Hi, Sebastian!! Thanks for reaching out to us!! :)) ☕

Don’t worry, there’s nothing wrong with your Jura. When you get the ‘Switch Open’ message, your Jura is telling you to clean its frother. Therefore, just place a heat-resistant container that can hold at least 10 ounces of liquid under the milk frother and turn the steam dial to the steam position. Once the Jura is done rinsing the frother, it will message you to close the steam dial and it will stop displaying the ‘Switch Open’ message.

We hope this information helps you!! If it doesn’t, please don’t hesitate to drop a comment about it and we’ll take a look into some other possible solutions!! Take care and pamper yourself with a coffee drink made by your Jura E6!! :)) ☕

  3. @morningcallcoffeestand tell me honestly, do i get the e6 or the e8? I like very hot coffee, i drink coffee 5 times a day, i like to be able to program it’s strength and temperature obviously, and i like being able to set a timer for the next brew.

    • Hey there, Melinda!! Thank you for asking for our opinion on the matter!! :)) ☕

Based on what you’re looking for in a Jura, think that both the Jura E6 and the E8 will be great machines for you. Both of them have the same programmable settings for the brew and hot water temperature, as well as for the coffee strength. However, neither the E6 or the E8 will give you the benefit of the programmable brew time setting. The switch-off time on each of these two Jura models is programmable, however, and they both have the option for the Energy Save Mode.

Now, if you like more diversity when it comes to your coffee drinks, we do suggest you check out the Jura E8 since it can make more coffee specialties than the E6 can. You said you drank coffee 5 times a day, so you might be into some coffee variety. :))

You can always tell us which model you decided to go for here, in the comments and we’ll be here to congratulate you!! Take care and let your coffee bring you lots of joy!! :)) ☕
