There’s not a rule as to which type of coffee you should use on a Jura A9, so you are free to enjoy the one that you like… if the beans are not too oily, yes, you’ve got that part right. Oily beans can get jammed in the hopper easily and they can clogg up the grinder and the brew system of the machine. To avoid oily coffee blends, choose a blend that contains both Arabica and Robusta beans in it or one with Robusta beans only. Robusta coffee tends to have less oils than Arabica.
Also, it is darker roasted coffees that are usually the oiler ones. Another good thing to do to have a better time with your Jura is to avoid flavored coffee beans since, like oily beans, they can be pretty sticky as well.
