Everything about the Jura Z6 talks about how compact and convenient this machine is, starting from its design and ending with the cleaning of the machine. The machine measures 17.7 x 12.6 x 14.8 inches. This means that finding a place for it in your heart won’t be a problem for you if you’ve already found a place in your heart for this machine.
The coffee maker has an understandable LCD screen on its front, and you can have up to six of your favorite drinks on the start screen. The coffee drinks are represented with a picture on the screen, and you can choose your drink of preference with the round knob on the top of the machine.
The 9.5 oz bean hopper and the bypass doser next to it are easily accessible, and it is alsot very easy to choose the grind level of the coffee. Furthermore, the drip tray of the Jura Z6 is on the front of the coffee machine, so emptying it will be as easy as it will be necessary.
Both the water tank and the adjustable butterfly coffee spouts on the Jura Z6 can be lightened up. This can help you see how much water is left in the tank and how your coffee drink is being prepared. Furthermore, the tray, filter, and the amount of coffee are electronically monitored by the machine, and this coffee maker won’t start running until all parts are set into place.
To clean your Z6, you’ll need a cleaning tablet that you can put in the bypass filter. This is, of course, how you can clean its brewing system. The brew unit on the Jura Z6 is not removable.
However, frequent rinsing or descaling of your Z6’s brewing system won’t be necessary since the machine uses a water filter. Therefore, the brewing system will be pretty much safe from minerals building up on its walls.
For the frothing system, Jura has the Z6 come with a special container and a liquid that you can use to clean the tubes where milk goes through. This is very easy and it won’t take you much time or effort. Just follow Jura’s instructions on the cleaning process and you’ll be fine.
Smart water tank with great water capacity
The Jura Z6 has a lot to brag with when it comes to its filter. The CLEARYL smart filter that the Z6 uses ‘communicates’ with the machine, and the Z6 detects the presence of the filter inside the tank. This makes the Z6 stand out from some of Jura’s previous models which cannot detect the filter in the tank of the machine.
Having a smart water filter, the Z6 will not ask you to descale it when there’s no real need for it. This means that you will get coffee drinks with good flavor from this machine, and you’ll descale the brewing system less frequently.
Great espresso and ristretto
With the Jura Z6 you can make your coffee stronger or not that strong, but one thing is for sure – you’ll get great coffee flavor in no time. The Z6 can offer you great espresso and ristretto, but it can also make you 19 other drinks which you can also program. You can program the temperature of the water and milk in the drinks, the coffee strength, and the water and milk volume.
What’s also great about the Jura Z6 is that you can customize your coffee while the machine is preparing it. This is great for when you change your mind on how you want your coffee.
All in all, every drink that comes out of the Z6 tastes fine. This is because of the nice brewing and frothing systems, and all of Jura’s intelligent technologies, such as the P.E.P. (Pulse Extraction Process) technology and the Intelligent Water System. The P.E.P technology makes sure that you can enjoy a rich and aromatized coffee. The Intelligent Water System technology, on the other hand, reduces the water hardness in Z6’s water tank and improves the flavor of your coffee as well.
Now, even though it’s a nice coffee maker, the Jura Z6 has some drawbacks that some people might find as reason enough to not buy the machine. Aside from being a pricey coffee machine, the Z6 has three other drawbacks that have attracted our attention.
One of Z6’s drawbacks is that the machine has only six coffee grind levels. We believe that being as expensive as it is, the machine could’ve come with more grinding options. However, the grinder on the Z6 is very nice and does a great job in keeping the natural aroma of the coffee.
Unlike the Jura Giga 5, the Z6 has a single thermoblock boiler, and we think that it would’ve been nice to have two of them. This would’ve made it possible to brew and froth at the same time. However, the quality of the brewing and the frothing is very good when it comes to the Jura Z6.
Another drawback of this machine is that it doesn’t have a cup warmer. Therefore, if you’re someone who wants to have their cups gradually heat up before you serve yourself some coffee, you’ll have to heat the cups by pouring some hot water in them. If this is not a strain for you, this drawback of the Z6 won’t be an issue for you.
