About the Jura E6

The Jura E6 and the E8 may look very similar, but the difference are still noticeable

The Jura E6 is, by all accounts, a very nice coffee machine. With it, you’ll have the option to get six coffee drinks and hot water, so seven products in total. The coffee maker has eight adjustable coffee strengths, a 9.9oz bean hopper, and a 63.6oz water tank.

The E6 will first grind your coffee with its AromaG3 grinder to a grinding size that you can adjust in a special chamber. Then, it will use its Intelligent Pre-Brew Aroma System to wet the coffee before it gets brewed. This is done for the improvement of the coffee flavor.

After that, the machine will brew your coffee with its Pulse Extraction Process technology which forces hot water through the coffee in short intervals. Your desired coffee drink will then get into your cup through the E6’s dual coffee spout system. The flavor of the drink is guaranteed with the Intelligent Water System which filters minerals in the water that can impact the taste of the coffee.

The Jura E6 has integrated cleaning programs for both its coffee and milk systems. Its drip tray is electronically monitored, so you’ll know when to empty it. The machine looks very nice, is very easy to use and clean, and the drink options on the display are understandable.

About the Jura E8

Jura E8 Platinum
The Jura E8 Platinum is one of the best looking coffee makers on the market in 2020

When it comes to the Jura E8, we can say that the coffee maker is a step above from its predecessor, the E6. This machine makes 12 different products with 10 coffee strengths. If you enjoy ristretto, macchiato, latte macchiato, or flat white, you’ll enjoy them even more when this machine makes them. Also, if you’re a cappuccino lover, you’ll be happy to know that the Jura E8 has a one-touch cappuccino option.

The Jura E8 uses the AromaG3 grinder to grind your coffee, but you can also use grounded coffee with this coffee maker. Like the E6, the Jura E8 also has a lot of Jura’s brewing technologies integrated into it, many of which are found on even more sophisticated Jura machines like the Jura Z6 or the Jura Z9. That said, the E8 will pre-brew your coffee for better aroma and flavor, and it will use the Pulse Extraction Process to improve the coffee’s extraction time. Furthermore, the integrated Intelligent Water System will get rid off of any water hardness that can make the coffee taste bad.

The intelligent preheating on the Jura E8 will preheat the water so that the machine doesn’t spend more energy when brewing your coffee. Not only does it save on energy, but it’s also very easy to clean and use. It has cleaning and rinsing programs for the coffee and milk system and a touch screen with easily-accessible menus. The design of the E8 is very good, and it’s what we would call a ‘smart design’ since the machine is very hand-friendly, durable, and doesn’t take a lot of space.

Similarities between Jura E6 and Jura E8

There are many similarities between the Jura E6 and the Jura E8 coffee makers. Both of the machines look great, with similar design themes going on and are very durable. They also use the same Jura coffee grinding and brewing technologies, and they both make great-quality coffee.

The size of the water tank in the E6 is the same as the size of the tank in the E8 (63.6oz). The capacity of the bean hopper is 9.9oz for both of the machines. Both of the coffee machines can brew from 5 to 16 grams of coffee, and their trays have the capacity of 16 coffee grounds. Furthermore, they use the same grinder, pre-brewing technology, P.E.P., and an Intelligent Water System.

Another technology that both of the coffee makers use is Jura’s fine foam technology. They also have the same cleaning, rinsing, and descaling programs and can be set in the Energy Save mode. The E6 can be connected to your smart device via Bluetooth, and so can the E8.

There are also many similarities in terms of what’s programmable on these coffee machines. You can program the amount of water you use in your coffee drink and the brewing and the hot water temperature on both the E6 and the E8. Furthermore, the coffee spouts on the two machines have the same adjustability levels.

Differences between the Jura E6 and Jura E8:

There are some differences between the E6 and the E8 that make the E8 a better choice. For instance, the Jura E8 has a one-touch cappuccino option, which is not the case with the E6. Also, the E8 makes more coffee drinks and has more adjustable coffee strength levels than the E6.

The E8 also uses intelligent preheating, which makes it a bigger energy saver than the E6. The Jura E8 can also brew grounded coffee, while the E6 only works with coffee beans. Furthermore, the E8 has a touch screen which is a more up-to-date feature than the color display of the E6.

Here’s a video highlighting some visual differences between the two Jura coffee makers:

Which one should you go with?

With all of the information given, it is clear that the Jura E8 has some advantages when compared to the E6. This is why we think that buying the Jura E8 is better than buying the Jura E6. It is not that the E6 model is bad; after all, both of the coffee makers belong to the same E line. However, the Jura E8 is a level above the E6.

The Jura E8 offers more choices in drinks and greater programmability. Furthermore, the one-touch cappuccino option makes it easier to use for cappuccino lovers. Also, the option to use grounded coffee is great if you love some grounded coffee brand or are in a hurry. Therefore, we think that the Jura E8 is a better model than the E6.

  1. I really want the E8, but that price is just very inconvenient for me. Do you happen to know of any time of the year when Amazon has discounts or something like that? This really is a good machine, but, oh, so expensive!!! @morningcallcoffeestand

  2. Juras are gonna be Juras, and I hope I can get the Jura E8 in two-three months or so. My sister and my brother in law own one (a Jura S8), and, man, it is good. These ones are probably very good machines too, not to say they’re not. But damn, does the coffee from the S8 taste good, especially the latte macchiato. Well, maybe it’s because of the beans they use… No matter what, I, as someone who gets to occasionally drink the coffee from the S8, am very pleased by that machine.

  3. Hello! I have a question for @morningcallcoffeestand. My question is: which one of these two coffee makers uses a better filter for the tank?

    Reply
    • Hi there, Shanae! We’ll be glad to answer your question!! ☕ :))

Both the Jura E6 and the E8 use the CLARIS/CLEARYL Smart filter cartridge. Don’t get confused by the two names — it’s the same filter cartridge sold under different names. This filter contains tiny granules inside of it that prevent chemicals like chlorine and some minerals from building up inside the espresso machine. However, healthy minerals and fluoride are not filtered out by the filter (pretty smart, right? :)) ).

The CLARIS/CLEARYL Smart filter cartridge can be detected inside the water tank by the machine, has a capacity from 1 352 to 2 197 fl.oz. depending on the hardness of your water, and, of course, prevents the formation of limescale in the machine. It has to do with Jura’s Intelligent Water System and greatly improves the flavor of your coffee.

We hope you have a nice, flavorful cup of coffee soon, and remember — always be aware of the quality of the water that you want to use in your coffee drink!! :)) ☕
